Dr. Lee Schwartz, Director of the Office of the Geographer and Global Issues, featured in American Geographical Society video series for AP Human Geography teachers
In a four-part video series, Dr. Lisa Benton-Short interviews Dr. Lee Schwartz, Geographer of the United States, in a discussion about the history and current operations of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Geographer and Global Issues, where the Humanitarian Information Unit resides. This video series is part of the American Geographical Society’s new “A Conversation with the Chief Reader” segment, a new resource for teachers, and was prepared in recognition of 2022’s 100th anniversary of the Geographer position as we celebrate of the 100th anniversary of the Office of the Geographer.
The series is designed to provide AP Human Geography teachers with cutting-edge content that covers contemporary ideas in human geography. New teachers may find this an effective way to better understand course themes; experienced teachers can deepen their content knowledge as well.
