The RSF and allied militias began their assault on El Geneina on April 24 and attained full control of the city on June 15, killing the governor. The image on the right shows the changes at El Geneina IDP Camp where approximately 1,350 structures were burned between mid-June 2023 and late August 2023. The image on the right shows the changes at El Geneina where approximately 800 structures along the Nyala-Geneina road were burned between mid-January 2023 and mid-October 2023. The image on the right shows the damage at the World Food Program site that occurred in late April.
