Anand Arun
Humanitarian Affairs Analyst

Mr. Arun joined the HIU in August of 2008 as a humanitarian analyst.  He focuses on humanitarian emergencies in South Asia, particularly refugee/IDP issues in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Prior to joining the HIU, Mr. Arun was an intern in the office of the Geographer and Global Issues in INR where he also worked on Afghan refugee issues in Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan.  Mr. Arun is currently a MA Candidate in Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in the Security Studies Program, where he is studying for a degree in National Security with an emphasis in South Asia and Counterterrorism.  He received his Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan in Political Science with a minor in South Asian studies.
